Live Your Life With Integrity

November 2010 Newsletter

Live your life with integrity. It's like a seed once planted and nurtured can reap many benefits along your life’s journey Integrity means aligning your actions with core values of honesty and truthfulness. It is a concept that defines the quality of one's character. It is the code of conduct by which we live our lives.

Integrity begins with a belief in something and using that belief as a compass to truthfully and honestly guide our decisions and actions. It is a great leadership tool that can be used in parenting, business, and relationships both personally and professionally.. Do you feel you live your life with integrity? How does your action express your core value of integrity both personally and professionally?

Here are a few ways to look within to measure your degree of integrity:

  • Do you withhold information or manipulate a situation for your benefit without a win-win outcome for all?
  • Do you take responsibility for your mistakes and work to correct them?
  • As a parent do you practice what you preach, serving as a role model for your children to follow?
  • Do you participate in idle gossip?
  • Are you judgmental and critical of others?
  • Do you have difficulties telling the truth?
  • Can you recognize when you are not behaving with integrity? Do you care when you do not?
  • Do you feel any remorse for taking something that doesn’t belong to you?
  • Do you do the right thing even when no one is looking?
  • Are you fair when dealing with others?

Here are some ways to sharpen your level of integrity:

  • Allow your compassionate heart to guide you?
  • As you work each day to achieve, help someone along the way to achieve as well.
  • Be more willing to forgive and liberate yourself.
  • Show kindness through your thoughts, words, and actions.
  • Be more empathetic and ready to offer a helping hand.
  • Practice what you preach. If you claim to be honest, then live honestly.
